From the moment we are conceived, months before we take our first breath, we begin crafting our blueprint — an intricate map shaped by our genetic compounds, the experience we live through our mothers in the womb, and once born, the experiences we have on earth. As children, we are deeply impressionable. Before the age of seven, our brainwaves are primarily in theta state — a deeply susceptible and hypnotic state where the subconscious mind is most open to absorbing information. During this time, we’re like little sponges, soaking up everything from the environments we’re in, the words spoken to and around us, and the emotions we witness and feel. These experiences form the core of our subconscious programming: beliefs about ourselves, the world, and what is possible for us.
Some of these beliefs can be empowering — “I am loved,” “I am safe,” “The world is full of opportunity.” Others, however, might stem from pain, fear, or misunderstanding. Perhaps as a child, you learned that speaking your truth led to conflict, so you unconsciously adopted the belief that staying silent is safer. Or maybe you witnessed scarcity, and thus internalised the idea that abundance is out of reach. These beliefs become automatic programs, running in the background of our lives, shaping our decisions and responses without us even realising it.
The subconscious mind is incredibly powerful. It governs over 90% of our behaviours, driving our habits, reactions, and emotional states. While designed to protect us, the programming isn’t always aligned with the person we want to become or the life we want to create. Especially as we grow older, and begin to find our way back to our true core; the essence of our being, and our purpose. The patterns and beliefs installed during childhood might have served us then, but as adults, they can become obstacles — barriers to the liberation, freedom, and manifestation of our deepest desires.
